Portable Digital Device Policy

Policy Statement

The College accepts that the use of ipods/mp3 (or similar) students is an intergral aspect of everyday life. Therefore the College acknowledges students bring these to school. However, the College will not take any responsibility for loss or damage of them. The College Code of Conduct requires that we all respect the personal property and rights of others. Therefore ipods/mp3’s will be treated in the same manner as all other personal items that students bring to school. The College recognises and supports the use of ipods/mp3’s as an educational tool in the teaching and learning process.

*Due to the value of these devices, students are discouraged from bringing them and other valuable, personal items to school.  

Implementation

• Students will be able to bring ipods/mp3's to school.
• Students may only use their ipods/mp3’s in a responsible manner and must not interfere with the operation of the College program.
• Students can use ipods/mp3 during lunch, recess and study lessons
• The use of ipods/mp3 on excursions or sporting activities will be at the discretion of the supervising teacher
• Students who use their ipods/mp3 irresponsibly will incur sanctions as per the student code of conduct. This can include confiscation.
